Affordable Housing Accreditation!
Affordable housing accreditation has been developed to provide proper guidance, evaluation and recognition for affordable housing organizations nationwide. In 2013, the Affordable Housing Accreditation Board was established as a non-profit to create a comprehensive accreditation system specific to the affordable housing industry.
Now, with the success of our pilot program, we are poised to bring our detailed standards, guidelines and performance indicators to your organization and help you adopt best-practices in preparation, execution, and benchmarking for the low-income and affordable housing markets. Once you've completed the process, we will recognize your achievement and reward your efforts with full accreditation for your affordable housing organization.

The AHAB Seal of Approval
A badge of honor and a sign of trust
Working with the AHAB (Affordable Housing Accreditation Board) standards and guidelines signals to all parties that your organization can be trusted to manage, develop and or run high-quality housing. As the AHAB seal quickly becomes the symbol for quality and reliability in the Affordable Housing industry, it serves as a valuable tool to attract investors, relieve regulators and build bridges within communities – all crucial components of a successful housing organization. Once accredited, we will supply you with an official seal for you to proudly display on your website, in documentation, in email signatures and any other promotional materials to display your achievement and commitment to quality.
Listen to what the experts say about AHAB
Great that accreditation is an educational experience for the staff and board to better understand and acknowledge the larger role we are playing in the community. Being able to compare our operations and resident interaction with other providers will help us and hopefully others expand, refine or enhance their programs.”
Keith LePrevost, Executive Director
Hightstown Housing Authority, New Jersey
We found the accreditation process valuable. It provided an opportunity for us to conduct a focused review of our practices against industry established standards and have our high performance confirmed by an independent third party. It also provides a methodology that will help us ensure we continue to maintain and build on that performance.”
Andrew Lofton, Executive Director
Seattle Housing Authority
We are proud to be among the first in the nation to earn the distinction. It is a testament to our staff, their service delivery and relationships with residents and stakeholders, and a committed governing board.”
Steven Fischer, Executive Director
Chester Housing Authority, Pennsylvania
