Congratulations to Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority – the 9th nationally accredited affordable housing organization!
The AHAB directors voted to award national affordable housing accreditation to the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) on August 18, 2021. CMHA is the ninth affordable housing provider to receive affordable housing accreditation. CMHA was chartered in 1933 and is one of the largest housing authorities in the country, serving over 22,900 households in the Cuyahoga metropolitan area in northern Ohio. “The CMHA team is mission-driven and committed to innovation. We were able to see this in their partnering for program development with other community stakeholders and the active participation of residents in CMHA’s policymaking. The CMHA Police Department has been nationally accredited with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) since 1983 and it’s obvious they take national standards and best practices seriously.” said Diana McWilliams, President and CEO of the Affordable Housing Accreditation Board.
